Things to Consider

Maintaining multiple blocks and working with setbacks

Regulation means helping the body return to a calmer state after stress. It does not mean removing stress or staying calm at all times. Regulation is about recovery.

"Setbacks aren't failures. They're information about what your structure needs."

SIMPLE REGULATION STRATEGIES

Breathing:
• Slowing the breath
• Longer exhales than inhales
• Breathing low into the body

Movement:
• Gentle movement
• Stretching
• Walking

Grounding:
• Noticing the environment
• Naming what you can see or hear
• Bringing attention to the body

Connection:
• Speaking with someone safe
• Feeling understood
• Reducing isolation

IF REGULATION FEELS HARD

If calming feels difficult:
• That does not mean you are doing it wrong
• Start small
• Focus on safety, not calm
• Practice outside stressful moments first

Regulation is a skill. Skills take time.

Reflection prompts:

WEEKLY TARGET SETTING

Choose one regulation-based target for the week. Targets should be:
• Small
• Achievable
• Pressure-free
• Focused on awareness or recovery
EXAMPLE TARGETS FOR BUSINESSES
• Step away briefly during stress
• Practice switching off after work
END-OF-WEEK REFLECTION

Reflect together:
• What stress signals did you notice?
• What helped, even slightly?
• What would you like to keep practising?

Progress is built through gentle, consistent practice

Regulation is not about control. It is about care.
